The short read

Useful numbers, with the source beside them.

Coffee choices shape daily routines, retail shelves, hospitality service, and a global supply chain. This page keeps the most useful current figures in one place, without turning estimates into facts.

Each figure names its reporting period and links to the original publisher. Use the individual anchors when you need to point readers to a specific statistic.

Methodology and sources

How to read these figures.

U.S. drinking figures come from the National Coffee Association’s National Coffee Data Trends reports. Those surveys describe consumer behavior among U.S. adults and coffee drinkers at the stated time, rather than all coffee sold or consumed over a full year.

World trade figures come from the International Coffee Organization’s 2024/25 Annual Review and use 60-kilogram bags, the reporting unit used in that publication. The two sources measure different things, so they should not be combined as though they describe one market total.
